7 Ways Get Your Bathroom Ready For Guests

Bamboo Toilet Paper

Have family staying with you this summer? Renting out your house while on vacation? No matter who your overnight guests are, it's important your bathroom be clean and welcoming. Here are our tips for getting your WC ready for company.

1. Provide Hygiene Essentials
We’ve all forgotten the essentials when we travel. Save your guests a trip to the drug store by providing travel-size hygiene products. This includes toothpaste, toothbrushes, feminine hygiene products, floss, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, qtips, cotton pads, and mouthwash. If you have the space you can keep these extras in attractive apothecary jars. If your bathroom is small you can keep these items under the sink or in your linen closet.

2. Clean Hand and Body Towels
Having spare hand towels and body towels for your guests can make your home feel luxurious. If you’re having a crowd stay with you try switching out the hand towels regularly, as they can become damp with repeated use. If you have the space, a basket of fresh towels is a nice touch. These extra fluffy towels are perfect to give your guests after a long day of travel.

3. Extra Space
If you are sharing your bathroom with your guests make sure you leave plenty of space in your shower and on your counter. If you need more room in your shower try a stainless steel wall caddy that fits snuggly in the corner of your shower. For those of us with little to no counter space, floating shelves above the toilet will leave room for your guests’ items and any extras you keep in your bathroom.

4. Add a Trash Can
Having a trash can that is easily accessible is one of the small ways you can make your bathroom feel more homey. We like this Amazon Basic Trash Can as it is small enough to fit snuggly beside your toilet or shower, and the lid keeps trash out of sight. Make sure to empty your bathroom trash regularly, as it can fill up fast.

5. Night Light
Having a night light in your bathroom is especially helpful for small children and guests who aren’t familiar with your home. Visitors can find your bathroom in the dark without blindly feeling their way along the wall. This sensored night light will automatically turn on in the evening and off in the morning.

6. Candles or Flowers
If your bathroom gets natural light try adding a bouquet of fresh flowers for your guests. Flowers will brighten up the space and keep any smells at bay. If your bathroom is windowless try a nice soy candle. Candles can be great for ambience if your guests want to take a relaxing bath.

7. Plenty of Toilet Paper
Most importantly, make sure you stock your lavatory with plenty of No.2 toilet paper. Made with 100% bamboo, free of dyes, scents, and BPA, your guests will appreciate the silky texture, and lack of butt crumble. Keep your extra No.2 in plain sight so your visitors don’t have to go searching for TP in an, er, awkward position.

Whoever you’re entertaining this summer, a clean and well-stocked bathroom will make your guests feel relaxed and cared for. Happy hosting!
